The fragility of economic life has compelled the lawmakers to enact criminal provisions on economic life. Economic offences require expertise since they are regulated in different codes and regulate different markets.
Crime of fraud is one of the most common economic crime. Besides, other acts such as abuse of trust and money laundering are other economic crimes defined in the Turkish Penal Code. In addition to these, offences regulated in the Banking Law and Capital Markets Law, offences regulated in the Turkish Commercial Code especially unfair competition, besides intellectual property offences are other important examples of economical crimes.
