Att. Celil Aktaş graduated from FMV Erenköy Işık High School in 2014 and enrolled in Okan University Faculty of Law, where he studied with full scholarship and graduated in 2019. During his undergraduate study, he studied at Pazmany Peter University in Budapest for a year and he took courses in international law and human rights.

After graduation, he completed his legal internship and joined the Istanbul Bar Association. Att. Celil Aktaş graduated from Bahçeşehir University Information Technologies Law Master’s program in 2023. Currenty he is a PhD student in Marmara University’s Public Law doctorate programme.

Att. Celil Aktaş is serving as the Secretary General of the Istanbul Bar Association Informatics Law Commission. He is also a member of the Commission’s Artificial Intelligence Working Group. Besides is he is a member of Istanbul Bar Association’s Human Rights Center, Personal Data Protection Commission, International Association of Criminal Law (AIDP – IAPL) and Turkish Informatics Association.

Att. Celil Aktaş is the author of the book titled “Disinformation Crimes” and has written many articles on different platforms. He is fluent in English, German and Russian and has a basic command of Mandarin.
